NNPN ANNOUNCES CONTINUED LIFE
OF NEW PLAYS FUND PROJECT
JIHAD JONES & THE KALASHNIKOV BABES
BY YUSSEF EL GUINDI

NNPN is pleased to announce that JIHAD JONES & THE KALASHNIKOV BABES by Yussef El Guindi is the latest play to be selected to participate in the Continued Life of New Plays Fund.

In JIHAD JONES, Ashraf has just received rave reviews for his performance of Hamlet at a struggling theatre in Los Angeles. But he's only earning $200 per week and he's having trouble paying the bills with his sporatic acting career. He needs a big break. A leading role in a Hollywood blockbuster. And that's just what his smarmy, shallow agent is offering. A feature film, big money, working for his favorite director, and playing opposite his favorite Tinsel Town starlet. All Ashraf has to do is play the most stereotypically evil, fanatical Islamic terrorist ever to grace the silver screen. JIHAD JONES follows Ahraf down a hilarious slippery slope, as he balances personal ethics and cultural pride against professional ambition.

As part of the project, JIHAD JONES & THE KALASHNIKOV BABES will be produced by Golden Thread Productions (San Francisco)June 7 - 29, 2008; InterAct Theatre Company (Philadelphia) April 10 - May 10, 2009; and Kitchen Dog Theater (Dallas) May 29 - June 27, 2009.
